Mid- Autumn and Water Lantern Fest
Mid-Autumn Festival, is popular in many Chinese cultural circles, because it's based on reunion of families and has always touched the homesickness of the wanderers in foreign lands. This traditional festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the lunar calendar, which varies form year to year. With the larger scale adoption on the Georgian calendar, many regions have started to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival on August 16th. The water lantern, also known as the river lantern, originated in the early years of the Ming Dynasty and was originally celebrated for 15 days!
